So, what is God?

Please enjoy this session from my live workshop “Self Empowerment,” presented in 2022.
So what is God? God is light. God is love. Not schmaltz love. Big, huge, all there is.
If God said, Do you want to feel what I feel? Go hold on to someone you love. That’s as close as you can get to me in the physical world.
And that’s why, when you love someone that much, there isn’t anything you wouldn’t do for them—because there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you.
All of us can feel the ground shifting—if not quaking—beneath our feet during these unprecedented times of Global Axial Shift. Simply glancing at each day’s headlines can be enough to make one feel powerless, lost, and fearful of what’s to come next.
From climate change and the loss of basic rights to democracies losing their footing worldwide, uncertain economies, and a world increasingly challenged by the struggle between truth and illusion, it’s clear that as one era ends and another begins, we find ourselves caught in the gravity field of a Global Dark Night. What makes this particular Dark Night unique is that, while it is a collective experience, it couldn’t feel more personal for each of us.
Yet Dark Nights are not merely chaotic periods of survival and psychological upheaval. At their core, they always contain a spiritual crisis. Indeed, the Dark Night of the Soul is the archetypal spiritual journey of transformation.
Every spiritual crisis in life presents a choice point for personal growth and transformation. The real challenge in any upheaval or life crossroads is whether we engage our capacity for empowerment—or give in to fear. Every decision, no matter how small or overwhelming it may seem, is ultimately another opportunity to choose self-empowerment over fear.
