Caroline Myss – You can’t have angels without demons
We have become so attached to our own minds that we believe the world of good and evil no longer exists. We convince ourselves that invisible forces are real only if we want them to be. We love the idea of angels because it is comforting, but we dismiss the idea of demons. You cannot have one without the other. I’m sorry—you just can’t.

This gathering is less a workshop and more a retreat, a sacred space we create together—whether you are present now or listening later. I often think of Thomas Merton’s prayer, “This day will never come again,” and that is the spirit I hope we bring to our time. Spiritual direction begins with entering a dialogue that allows your spirit to reveal the story you are living. No one is born knowing exactly who they are or what they are meant to do. What we are meant to do is search—discovering along the way who we are, what we believe, what holds meaning, and how to love. We are, each of us, our own mystery.
Every moment of life holds the chance to learn more about ourselves, to see with greater clarity how we move through the world. One of the richest ways to deepen this awareness is through sharing your inner life with a Spiritual Director. This is someone called to serve as a Sacred Witness—listening with presence, asking the right questions, and accompanying you through both the darkness of struggle and the fullness of your gifts. A Spiritual Director helps illuminate the hidden passages of the soul, guiding you into greater self-understanding and a deeper awareness of the divine in your life.
