You cannot avoid the darkness forever. Everyone experiences a dark night of the soul at some point. Therefore, your great spiritual task is to cultivate a relationship to both the light and the dark that is brave, honest, and wholesome.

Advent is the celebration, the ritual of one candle after another increasing the light as we move into the darkest day of the year – the winter solstice. And then the light comes back.

Welcome to a conversation between Robert and me on “The Holy Season for Mystics.” We thought we’d get together and chat about why we’re so excited for this class and what inspired this class between the two of us.

The holy season is a time to be joyful, but it can also be a very challenging time of year. Many of us feel lonely, lost, very tired, and in need of spiritual nourishment and life support. And that’s why it is so important to approach the holy season mindfully and with great compassion and care.

It is good to be talking to you again, and it is especially good to be sharing with you about the upcoming Reflections series I’ll be doing with Robert Holden – The Holy Season for Mystics.

I am so happy to be here with my dear friend Robert Holden. I invited him to do a class on The Enneagram for Reflections Parallel, and now I have a chance to chat with him about it.
