An Angel Disguised

Please enjoy this session from my live workshop “Guts & God” presented in 2016.
Every one of you has seen an angel disguised as someone, and you didn’t know it. There’s a French adage that says you should be careful how you treat a stranger because that’s how you meet an angel. They always come as strangers. So, be careful—you might be encountering an angel.
It takes far more courage to listen to God. Intuition is a natural sense that we have, but it is a “survival instinct.” Higher guidance, on the other hand, is an earned spiritual relationship—one that is developed between your soul and the Divine. Beyond your gut instinct lies your spiritual intuition and intelligence. It takes a lot of “spiritual guts” to delve deep into spiritual questions and to be willing to examine your life with courage and clarity. But from this work come profound changes, healing, and new direction.
It occurred to me that there was a time, not so long ago, when a workshop like this would have seemed impossible. What I experience today with people is that, more often than not, they are more certain about what they do not believe than what they do believe. It seems that many are more clear about what they’ve been disappointed by and what they have no faith in than what they have faith in at all. And today, that seems to define spirituality—the things you are certain you do not believe in form more of one’s spiritual life than the things you actually do believe in.
The biggest journey for any human being is to look into the soul of oneself and invite the presence of God—that is holy listening, listening to the holy. That is what I hope to offer in this powerful workshop.
