Happy New Year, Everyone,

With the coming of 2008, I am very pleased to announce that the paperback edition of ENTERING THE CASTLE is now available. The paperback edition includes an extended interview on the subject of contemporary mysticism conducted by the renowned author Andrew Harvey, who also happens to be a close personal friend. I have taught the work of the Castle throughout 2007, including taking a group of people on a workshop tour to Avila, Spain, which was absolutely wonderful.

For so many people, the discovery of their interior Castle has been among the most profound experiences of their life. How could it not be? Today, for example, a journalist interviewed me on the topic of intuition. She asked me how a scientist would measure intuition, to which I responded, "How would a scientist measure love?" That puzzled her for a moment and eventually she asked me why I thought the scientific world was so critical about intuitive, much less mystical, experiences. "It has to do with the management of truth," I told her. "The scientific world is most comfortable with a right or wrong paradigm, a simple reality in which truth is controllable as opposed to truth controlling the observer. In the mystical experience, truth controls the observer, presenting an antinomian domain of thought -- that is, a level of perception in which two opposing truths co-exist. (Light as a wave and a particle is one example of such a truth.) It is a challenge to contain opposing truths within your psyche and soul and to honor their pulsating power in the physical world. The majority of people can reside only within the world of opposites, in which one side is right and one is wrong, making their choices easier and the illusions much stronger. For this reason the journey into the soul is so intimidating: It is the journey of illumination and revelation into the domain of truth, melting the polarity of opposites and ascending into the truth that "All is indeed One." How shall science ever measure that truth in a test tube? Such a truth can only be experienced in your soul -- in your interior Castle.

So, you can see why I love teaching ENTERING THE CASTLE. Each time I know someone has crossed the drawbridge into his/her interior Castle, I know a profound transformation has begun. And speaking of teaching, my new class for ENTERING THE CASTLE begins in two weeks and meets three times just outside of Chicago. It's an intensely rich experience in which I direct you into your Castle, as well as into learning how to channel grace for healing. And you'll learn about how to enter into reflection, contemplation, and prayer, which are the devotions that all mystical traditions , both East and West, rely on for a soul's journey. I might add that developing the devotion of reflection is also the best thing you can do for yourself as a personal practice, just to keep in touch with yourself aside from any spiritual life. Let's face it, you need to know why you do the things you do and why you made the choices you make in life. Life requires reflection and contemplation, because it is not a game. The wise person who also chooses to walk a spiritual path while on this earth is simply making a shrewd move. THE HEALING WORK

To all of you who have joined the Salon and are writing in with your healing requests: First, I want to thank you for responding and I want you to know that I am reading each one of them. And the January Salon, which begins with our group instructions on how all of us will work together for and with each other to create our healing field of grace, will be out shortly. I would like to encourage everyone to join the Salon and be a part of the Healing Work, as our shared intention is to channel healing grace to each other to assist in our healing through the power of grace shared by a devoted group. And also to share that grace with our nation as it makes a transition in leadership (not for any particular leader, by the way,just that wisdom and grace prevail), and for global peace. Each Salon will explore the subject of healing from different perspectives.

Let me also respond to the question about personal readings: I no longer do personal readings,as I simply can no longer take on an active practice. What I am interested in is staying in touch with all of you who have requested prayer assistance. I will be sending out a form to you, a type of progress report, to fill out and send in (if you agree to it, of course), also this month.
