We are very proud to announce!
THE CMED INSTITUTE
Since the publication of Sacred Contracts, I have received inquires from many readers asking for my personal guidance with the selection of their 12 archetypes. Many people have also asked for my help, or the help of someone intimately familiar with my work, in casting a Chart of Origin, interpreting the placement of their archetypes in the Chart, and using the Archetypal Wheel for additional readings regarding health, career, finances, counseling, or spiritual guidance. Still others wanted to know if I could teach them how to lead focus groups on the Sacred Contracts material. This would require studying with me on a more advanced level of archetype and chart interpretation, such as casting an Archetypal Chart to gain greater insight into the unfolding of global events.
These requests, along with my ongoing research, have inspired me to establish the CMED Institute (Caroline Myss Education Institute). The aim of the Institute is to provide a training program based on the work introduced through my book Sacred Contracts for individuals interested in advancing their skill at both personal readings and professional readings in the counseling field. The Institute will also serve as a professional support network for graduates by listing their names and addresses on the Myss.com Web site. In this way, people who want help casting or interpreting an archetypal chart can locate an Institute member for professional guidance. I have been reluctant to recommend readers or counselors to those seeking help because, until now, I have had no way of judging how skilled any given individual might be at giving readings or offering guidance. This program will allow me to set standards and impart them to a small, select group of people whose training I will personally supervise. I will then feel confident in recommending anyone who successfully completes this training.
DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM AND INTENSIVES
The CMED Institute offers a two-year program, consisting of three weekend workshops per year, based on the work introduced in Sacred Contracts.

WHO IS RON ROTH?
For the past 30 years, Ron has dedicated his life to understanding the role of prayer and Spirit in healing, especially from a Judeo-Christian perspective. Currently, he hosts conferences and conducts healing prayer celebrations internationally.
Ron Roth was a Catholic Priest for 25 years. He moved from the priesthood to founding Celebrating Life Institutes when the power of his prayers healed people with everything from brain tumors to scoliosis and he was sought out by people all over the country of every faith and denomination. Some of the healings people have reported after Ron had prayed for them have been documented by Harvard trained neurosurgeon Norm Shealy, M.D. and written about in his book, "Sacred Healing", under the topic "Outstanding Healers of Our Time."
Ron is considered an authority on every aspect of prayer and for years, has used simple prayer in his healing seminars and retreats all over the country to bring healing to the sick. He is considered by scholars to be one of the foremost experts in the world on prayer and spiritual matters. Authors Larry Dossey M.D., Bernie Siegel M.D., Caroline Myss Ph.D., Wayne Dyer, Ph.D., Sonia Choquette, Ph.D. and others have endorsed his books.
When Fox News did a story on one of his healing retreats a few years ago, the response was so great it almost broke their switchboard and Fox decided to air it twice in two weeks, which is unprecedented in television.
Ron has written five books and produced numerous audio and videotapes on the subject of Spirit and Prayer in healing.
During his upcoming seminars, Ron will be sharing concepts from his new book., Reclaim Your Spiritual Power, which will be released in August, 2002.
QUESTIONS I AM MOST OFTEN ASKED
How do you describe spiritual healing?
Spiritual healing is not fighting illness but releasing the power of the Holy Spirit, as Peter did with the man lame from birth. This concept is at the heart of a story told about Guglielmo Marconi, the inventor of the wireless. Until I heard this account, I was under the impression that Marconi was the only scientist trying to discover the wireless, but in fact numerous scientists had set out to invent a wireless transmitter at around the same time. Marconi insisted that he would be the first. When questioned about how he knew he knew this, Marconi said that all the other scientists were trying to study the resistance in the atmosphere to the transmission of words. "I have already discovered that there is no resistance," he said. He wasn't fighting some imaginary resistance, but was looking for a way to release the power that was already present.
Our main focus in spiritual healing should not be to fight the so-called "evil" in the world, but to discover ways to release the good within ourselves. Spiritual healing means unblocking the Spirit to flow through our lives, changing and transforming us. Spiritual healing is learning to live in the Spirit of wholeness. Spiritual healing is releasing the potential life of the Divine that is always present within us. But we still have to act on that potential. So basically, spiritual healing is learning to live life from the "inside out."
You talk about authentic prayer. Exactly what is that?
Authentic prayer has three components. The first is referred to in Christianity as the Holy Spirit, which I call the Spirit of Wholeness or the "still, small voice" that Elisha heard in the Old Testament. We need to learn how to listen to this inner voice, to know that prayer isn't just about talking but is also, perhaps predominantly, about listening. It isn't a monologue, but a divine dialogue between you and the essence of your being, the Source of all life.. You talk and you listen. That divine Essence within talks and that divine Essence listens.
The second component of authentic prayer is faith. By that I don't mean doctrine or dogma or faith in a religious organization. Real faith is the energy to command--the faith that is talked about by mystics and yogis and adepts of all traditions as the boundless energy that comes from knowing that divine potential resides in each of us.
The third component is what the mystics understood by prayer. As I have noted in books I have written, the ancient languages of Sanskrit and Aramaic have no one word that translates literally as "prayer" in our sense of the term. The traditional Western concept of prayer is a monologue of asking or begging because we really don't believe that we deserve what we desire. In Sanskrit, the word that comes closest to prayer is pal al, which means "seeing yourself as wondrously made." And the word that comes closest to prayer in Aramaic is slotha, which means "to set a trap," implying that when we wish to communicate with the divine essence that fills the whole universe, we leave ourselves open, like a hunter's snare, to catch the thoughts of God. Catching these thoughts, we learn to follow internal guidance and act upon them.
Does one have to be physically touched by you to receive spiritual help?
Some people cling to the notion that a person--me or somebody like me--who is graced with healing ability needs to touch them and work with them individually for them to be healed. You do not need for me or anyone else to touch you; you only need the Divine Spirit (God) to touch you. That can happen anywhere at any time. My role is to show you how to get into that atmosphere so it can happen.
When I was leading a healing prayer service for a couple of hundred people in Indianapolis a few years ago, I called a woman up to the platform who was going through a lot of trauma over her encroaching deafness. Within five minutes she could hear, and she left her hearing aids behind. After lunch that day, a gentleman came up and asked if he could talk to me. He told me that during the service he had felt something in his body, yet his mind did not want to believe what had happened. I asked him to explain.
He told me, "I came here with two hearing aids, just like the woman you worked with this morning," adding that he had been sitting in the last row. "When you were working with her, though, they started making such a terrible electric noise that I took them out. And when I did I could hear everything you said, even when you turned the microphone off as you were testing her ears." Four months after that I saw him again. He had received a clean bill of health from his medical doctors, who admitted that they didn't know what happened.
What is the role of faith in healing?
First I'd like to begin with a series of scriptural quotations taken from the Gospels, the New Testament Book of Ancient Wisdom. To get something out of these quotations, you don't need to be a Christian or to believe that Jesus Christ was the only Son of God. Whatever your religious belief system or mind-set, you can simply look at Jesus as a great healer and enlightened being. I choose Jesus not only because he is my personal teacher and friend, but also because Jesus said several memorable things about the role of faith in healing. Once again, we are not talking about religious faith, or faith in the Bible or any religious dogma. When Jesus spoke of faith, he meant belief in the Divine within each of us that is synonymous with faith in one's connection with the Divine and confidence in the healing power of God's love for all people. Here is some of what he said as recorded in the Gospels.
"Your faith has healed you."
"As you believe, it shall be done unto you."
"If you have faith, you could say to this mountain 'Depart' and it would obey you."
"Pray believing you have [already] received and it will be done for you."
"Your faith has made you whole."
"Receive your sight, your faith has saved you."
As St. Paul put it, every one of us is given a portion of faith. But that faith can be in either positive or negative results---we can believe that we will succeed or that we will fail. The mechanism is the same but the outcome is different. As I have often said, we have a choice as to what we put into the computer that is the mind. They say that the computer was designed to imitate the way the brain works. Are you still carrying hurts around with you? You have a choice to keep feeding those hurts into your computer or saying, "Today I intend to get a healing for that. I'm going to let it go. I'm going to practice forgiveness. Not only am I going to forgive that person and that situation, but I'm also going to forgive myself for harboring these thoughts and feelings." By contemplating the opposite sense of our negative predispositions, we can actively reverse them.
Can you give me a simple exercise to follow to help me focus more on the positive in my life rather than the negative?
With a positive mind and a relaxed body, you are ready to approach your spirit. Put yourself in a positive mind set, breathe deeply three times, allow your body to relax and affirm, "I am at peace.". It is good to repeat your affirmation three times, one for the body, one for the mind and one for the spirit. And as you affirm, picture or sense the Divine Spirit working for you and with you. If you will invest 10 minutes a day, picturing the Divine Spirit at work in your business, in your family affairs, or even in personalities that might rub you the wrong way, the results will amaze you. If you are having difficulty with a particular person, for example, see that person embraced by a golden light, and sense the person expressing happiness. This will activate the love of God and the peace of God within you and the person. To become a better individual yourself, affirm, using your own name:
"I, ___________, behold the Divine Spirit in you. I behold the Christ Light at work in my life producing perfect results now. My life cannot be limited. The Divine Energy in me is my freeing, healing, loving, prospering power."
Image, visualize, affirm. Every part of that trinity is essential to success. It's not enough to affirm words; you must have powerful emotions behind them. They have to be something you can picture in your mind. "The Christ Spirit in me is my forgiving power. The Christ Spirit in me frees me from all attachments that will hinder my growth toward wholeness. The Christ Spirit in me is my healing power. This Divine energy in me now raises me up to perfect health. The Christ Spirit is producing perfect results in every phase of my life now, and all is well. I relax. I let go."
Image, visualize, affirm. If you have trouble visualizing abstract concepts like "forgiving power" or "healing power," don't let it bother you. When in doubt, I always imagine Jesus or some divine being, angel, or saint giving me a big hug. That Divine gesture embraces forgiveness, healing, abundance, and just about every other positive thought or feeling or attribute.
To be healed, must you belong to a certain religion?
Absolutely not. That alone would make the Divine Father/Mother be a conditional lover. Love is the healing agent, the energy that heals. God is Love and at some point be willing to accept and receive that truth into your whole being.
ABOUT RON'S LATEST BOOK
Reclaim Your Spiritual Power
To be released August, 2002
In Reclaim Your Spiritual Power, Ron helps you understand ways in which you can not only reclaim your spirit, but also keep your spiritual power functioning more consistently.
Ron explains the components of empowerment in a way that is deeply spiritual, and also very practical and easy to comprehend. He discusses the role of vision, imagination, motivation, passion, joy and laughter in your life------plus much more.
Often Ron is asked where his wisdom comes from and his answer is simple: "From the writings of Sacred Scriptures, upon which I have meditated daily for 30 years.
In this inspirational book, Ron uncovers the mystical power of belief, and tells you how to utilize this secret and other principles to assist you in creating miracles in your own life.
A Quote from Ron concerning the new book:
"We all have locked deep within us a spiritual power that holds the key to our healing. We have only to follow some simple steps to reclaim that power and take control of our lives. In this book, I present those steps in an accessible format designed to empower you through various states of awareness and forms of authentic prayer, which allow you to contact your Divine inner nature that was there all along.
"In my own case, reclaiming my innate spiritual power required two events that, although seemingly unrelated, bear a direct relationship to each other. The first was a visit to an extraordinary healer in the forests of Brazil named John of God. The second was a near-fatal stroke that I suffered soon afterwards. I hope that by telling you the story of these events, I can begin to show you how you, too, can reclaim the vast spiritual power that already lies within you."
