1. How do I subscribe to the list?
You can fill in your email address below and click the 'subscribe' button.

Within a few minutes after subscribing using the form, you will receive a confirmation notice delivered to your email address. This notice must be responded as indicated in order for the subscription request to be completed.

2. How much mail will I get?
This can vary widely but usually averages around 20-30 posts daily. Checking out the list archives can help you get a feel for the list's traffic flow.

3. What are the list rules?
While the list is unmoderated, the list administrator will monitor traffic and ensure conversations are kept topical. Please be a good list member and respect your fellow listies by adhering to the list rules:

• NO commercial posts. Period. We all get enough spam, thank you.
• No signatures over 5 lines. Commercial sigs for personal Web sites are acceptable.
• Do not send attachments to the list.
• Derogatory and insulting personal comments are unacceptable, as is abusive language.
• Participants in discussions that have veered toward the purely personal will be asked to take their correspondence to private email. Violations will result in removal from the list.
• NO copyrighted material, e.g., if you didn't write it, don't send it.

4. What is digest mode?
List mail will be accrued into batches of approximately 15-20 posts before being forwarded to you in one bulk digest. If you already receive a great deal of mail or prefer to just "lurk" this may be the way for you.

5. How do I subscribe to the digest version of the list?
If you wish to remain a member of the list but cut down the volume of list mail that you receive, login at www.eGroups.com, and on the My eGroups page, check the box next to the mysslist. Then scroll down and click the link in the delivery-mode column. (The right column labeled Mode.) This will allow you to choose to receive periodic digests of all list posts. Click on the blue link which may say E-Mail and then select Digest. Click on Apply Changes.

6. How do I read list mail on the Web?
If you wish to remain a member of the list but read all list mail on the Web, login at www.eGroups.com, and on the My eGroups page, check the box next to the mysslist. Then scroll down and click the link in the delivery-mode column. (The right column labeled Mode.) This will allow you to read list mail via the eGroups.com Web site. Click on the blue link which may say E-Mail or Digest and select Web. Click on Apply Changes.

7. How do I unsubscribe from the list?
There are two ways to unsubscribe: via the eGroups.com Web site or via e-mail.

To unsubscribe via the Web, log in at www.eGroups.com, and on the "My eGroups" page, check the box next to the group from which you want to unsubscribe. Then scroll down and click the Unsubscribe button, and your're done.

Alternatively you may wish to remain a member of the eGroup, but cut down the volume of e-mail that you receive. You can click on the link in the delivery-mode column. (The right column labeled Mode). This will allow you to choose to receive periodic digests or allow you to continue reading the groups postings on the Web. Click on the blue link which may say E-Mail and then select the message delivery mode desired. Click on Apply Changes.

To unsubscribe via e-mail, send an empty e-mail to mysslist-unsubscribe@eGroups.com.

8. Is the discussion list archived?
Yes. The archives can be viewed even if you are not a list member. Visit www.eGroups.com/list/mysslist to access the archives.

9. Why am I getting an error message about my email address?
If you're experiencing this when subscribing via the Web site it's probably because there are extra characters in the form field. Make sure there are no spaces or anything other than your exact email address in that field.

10. Why am I getting two copies of the same list mail?
Most likely it's because another list member has copied you on a reply also sent to the list address. If you're getting both index mail and a digest it's because you're subscribed in both modes.

11. I think I unsubscribed but I'm still getting mail.
You must unsubscribe from the exact same address to which the list sends mail.

12. Why can't I post to the list?
If none of your posts make it to the list . . .

• You can only post under the exact address to which you're subscribed. In other words, if you're subscribed from home and you try to send a post from work, it won't work.
• Are you sending them to the right address? All list mail goes to: mysslist@eGroups.com.

If a single post doesn't make it, it might be too long or there may have been one of those wonderfully technical glitches called hiccups. Please try again and let us know if you're still having trouble.
